A few months ago, I was contacted by the ridiculously gorgeous, funny & uber talented Beth Jansen asking if I wanted to be featured as one of PhotoVision’s child & newborn photographers for their 2012 series of educational DVD’s for professional photographers. I jumped on the chance to work with Beth and the crew – and I’m so glad I did! What a fun experience! Ed Pierce and his boys made me feel at home right away – and by the time they left I felt like I’d known them all for years. Lots and lots of laughing going during filming. I’m hoping some of it ends up on some sort of gag real….(ahem, Ed!). We started out doing a child shoot with one of the most gorgeous little 5 year old girls I’ve ever laid eyes on! She was great – even with all these strange men and their video cameras chasing she and I around. I finished her gallery and wanted to share a few of my favorites!

It’s so much fun being a newborn photographer, but every once in a while, it’s fun to take a break from that and interact with these cute little chubby things that don’t know how to NOT be hams for the camera. Zander is about as adorable as they come, but even more adorable? How much his mommy and daddy love him! I still have the “Who’s the Best Baby in The Whole Wide World” song stuck in my head they were singing the entire time! So cute. Just look at how this family oozes love……sigh…..

Just look at these little guys – I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever laid eyes on a more adorable set of brothers…..I can’t decide on what’s most adorable…their ridiculously gorgeous faces, the way their mama dresses them, or the fact that they truly are each others bestest buddies. The way they play is so cute!!!

The last time I saw these guys, Connor was just days old! It always blows me away to see how much they grow over time! We met up at a Puyallup park and I chased them around and around…made a total fool out of myself, and loved every minute of it.

It never ceases to amaze me how much babies change in the first year -  Miss Lauren was certainly no exception. It’s been a few months since her newborn session and her mama and daddy wanted to get some family portraits now that she’s getting bigger. After a record number of reschedules, due to lovely Seattle weather, we finally decided to show the weather who’s boss by going against what the weather man was telling us. And you know what? The rain held off till the very last minute we were done! Thanks J & M for bringing your baby back to see me again!! Sweet little Alaina is getting bigger! We tried to do an outdoor session, but the weather was not our friend that day. No sooner had we set foot outside, it really started to pour. I was able to get a few shots out by the lake before we had to move the session into the studio. I really love this first shot – there is something uniquely special about a father/daughter relationship. If you ask any little girl, she will tell you that her daddy is her hero. Alaina’s daddy will no doubt be her hero, not only because of who he is but also because of what he’s given our country. I know I’m a little past Veterans Day, however – I feel any day is a good day to say thank you to all the men and women who have served our country!
