Oh my goodness…I have neglected this blog so badly! I’ve been working away, but with the holidays and everything else, I haven’t been updating anything. Things are changing in 2013 and I’m excited about all that is coming my way. These pictures are just a few of my favorites from sessions I haven’t blogged. I loved working with each and everyone of these tiny babies. It’s fun going back through all these images and smiling about all their different personalities, the fun I had meeting the new parents – and as usual, seeing just how much in love these Mamas and Daddies are in love with the tiny new addition to their family. LOVE!

Playing catch-up here on my blog! I can not believe how long it has been since I’ve posted anything! Shame on me!

I tend to be a little more active over on my Facebook Page so hop on over there every once and a while, you will be more like to see my current work. These last few months have been packed with work, family, traveling and more work, family and traveling. And as a result, my poor blog has been severely neglected! I have a few more sessions edited and ready to blog over the next few days, so keep your eye out!

I have been having fun working with these little babies. Each of them are so unique, I love looking at all their little features and am continually amazing with the perfection in each one. I get so excited every time I lay my eyes on each and every baby – it is just like opening a present every time! I have said it a million times, and I will say it again, I love these babies and I LOVE my job!

Emma was so fun to work with…and boy did she make me work! I have a feeling that nobody is going to stand in her way from becoming anything she wants to be! It took her a while to get used to me moving her tiny hands and feet, but the my patience paid off in the end. She is such a pretty little thing, and there was NO way I was letting her out of my studio until I got what I wanted. A special thanks to her Mama and Daddy for bringing her and and sticking it out through Emma’s session. I hope she slept really well for you after the session!

Little Mr. Soren came to see me a couple weeks ago. He is such a cute little man – loved, loved, loved snuggling up with him for the morning and afternoon! He had some opinions about being the supermodel for the day, but with a little coaxing, he finally gave in and slept like a champ for me. Opinions or not – I really do adore working with these fresh little babies! Working in my new studio, now have the ability to shoot with studio or natural light. It was a perfect cloudy day here (being a Seattle newborn photographer, I’m pretty used to cloudy….or cloudy and rainy!) and I was able to use my new big window and get some really pretty light.

It’s such a good thing that I have the job I do, because it keeps me from having anymore babies! My 3 monkeys keep my busy enough, and with my youngest about to turn 4 – I could totally see myself getting baby fever! She is getting so big, so fast! Thank God I get to snuggle on these babies for a few hours, and then send them home with their Mamas and Daddies. I get to sleep through the night! (he, he)…I love and am so grateful for my job…for many, many reasons.

Teagan came into to see me when she was 13 days old – and what a FUN session that was! Teagan’s mama is one of my long time friends from high school, so she and a couple of our other friends came to the session and it was a day filled with two of my favorite things…walking down memory lane/laughing with friends and cuddling a newborn baby! Not only was this little miss gorgeous – she was SUCH a mellow little thing! Only woke up once – and then right back to sleep!….I {heart} my job!

Little man Wyatt was an absolute dream to work with! Not only is he super cute, he was a very mellow little guy…and gave me lots of smiles! He was teasing me though, he’d grin when I had the camera down, and just as soon I had that camera to my face – it was gone! I did catch this one….probably one of the biggest newborn grins ever! Such a fun session!

Little man Kyran at 8 weeks old. Usually I don’t work with babies this old – but his Mama really wanted to capture him before he had fully outgrown his newborn stage – it really does go by so fast! He made me work for sure, but it was worth it in the end! I actually liked the challenge and still being able to get some fun shots out of him!

November Mentoring Session – Seattle Newborn Photographer

What an amazing day! I hosted a mentoring session back in November (as you can see I’m way behind getting to this blog post!) and it was so much fun! Little tiny peanut slept great for me through the first half of the session and then decided she wanted to be awake for the rest of the session to see what the heck was going all around her! October Newborn Mentoring – Seattle Newborn Photographer

Had so much fun with this mentoring session – two great Canadian photographers (I always have fun listening to their accents….which they then informed me that it is ME not them, who has the accent! Cracks me up!) We had two gorgeous babies to work with that day! I really do love teaching these sessions!

First up is Tristan – he was one of the most handsome little guys I’ve ever laid eyes on! He’s the little man of a girl I graduated high school with – good to see you again Samantha!

Next up was sweet little Mariah – she was such a mellow little thing! Went from pose to pose without so much as a peep! Loved working with her for sure!

I was contacted by another local photographer to do a newborn session for the newest member of her family, little man Blake. He was a really good little sleeper…up until the end when we wanted to go for the family shot that his mama wanted so bad! We tried and tried (for 2 hours!), but he wasn’t going to budge. He was awake. And that was that!

So we decided to give it a go with him awake, and thankfully it worked! It was fun to work with another photographer, it’s always fun to talk shop with others who share the same interest and not sound like a total photog nerd! Lol! Thank you Emi for bringing your little man in – and thank you for being patient. It paid off!

PhotoVision Newborn Session – Seattle Newborn Photographer

Just a quick post – here are some of the fun shots taken on the day of filming with PhotoVision. What a fun day! The babies, while both gorgeous, had serious opinions about me posing them, but I managed to stay patient enough to get some fun shots! It was a long, very HOT session (that’s what happens when you have 15 people in a 500 sq ft studio!) – but Ed and his crew were so much fun!! Lots of laughter going on that day for sure! After “knowing” Beth Jansen online for the past few years, we finally met and I think we fell in love. At least I did with her! Such a funny girl!!

The whole experience was so much fun, and I absolutely cannot wait to see the DVD’s coming out in 2012!

This session was pretty special to me…many of you followed a story on facebook about my best friend who gave birth to a baby girl, Brynna Elizabeth, who sadly passed away 6 days after she was born. This situation was shocking to say the least, and has been horribly painful for so many people, and I am certainly no exception. This was the first newborn session I did after learning about the death of Brynna and I wasn’t sure how I would react to it…would it be a reminder of what was lost? Would I be able to hold it together? I was a little worried about my emotions taking over…

And to my surprise, I found it to be quite therapeutic to hold, cuddle and treasure this precious baby girl. She was beautiful. Healthy. And I found that holding her gave me a small bit of peace during the grief of losing Brynna. I spent extra time just looking at her and being grateful for life. Every baby truly is a gift from God…and this little one is no exception. Thank you so much to mama and grandma for bringing her to see me on that day. It really did give me relief, in those few hours, just being able to be with her…

Lillian was such a sweet baby to work with. She was really a dream to work with! Not only was she super mellow, she was ridiculously pretty – those lips are do DIE for! Thanks Jenna for bringing her in to see me. Enjoy your sneak peek!!

This little sweater & hat set (below) is a family heirloom – many generations before Lillian have worn it and had their pictures taken in it. I was so happy to participate in that tradition!

Can you believe it’s already half way through July and I’m just now posting about July’s mentoring session? I have been a busy girl – my wonderful husband Jason and I decided to build an in home studio – and it’s finally done! It was a busy summer, all 3 kids home from school and the house was under construction, but I’m SO glad we did it! I’ll post pictures of the new studio later…

Well hello! Have you all missed me? I’ve been a BUSY girl these days!!

A few months ago, my sweet husband and I made the decision to build a studio here at home! I’ve rented a studio space for almost 5 years, and while it’s been wonderful to have my own space – this new studio is so much better and a much needed change. I had a vision and it came to life through the most amazing construction company American Dream Design Build. The entire staff was outstanding – this project was done with all 3 kids home from school for the summer and I was blown at how easy it was to deal with the construction!

I plan on doing an entire before & after post with lots of pictures (I’m hearing you fellow photographers – don’t worry, it’s coming soon!). Construction is done, and now it’s time to move in and get all set up for my first mentoring session which will take place on September 12. I’ve got lots to do before then!

Now are you all ready for some cuteness?? Little Miss Eden was my very last newborn in my old studio, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with that gorgeous little girl! I will let the pictures speak for themselves. She was a little angel!

june mentoring session – seattle newborn photographer

Another FUN mentoring session! I had a hired a different assistant this time, my really good friend and Mommy Blogger Extraordinaire Kathy, aka Mama Kat. Go check out her blog - she’s seriously one of the funniest people I know! Love that girl’s sense of humor….she’s had me in tear inducing fits of laughter many times!

First up was pretty little Madison. She was a bit of a diva, but there was no way I was letting her leave my studio without capturing a few of that little angelic face. Just look at how pretty she is!! Every little feature on her is perfection!

Then we had Alexander, and he was a mellow fellow and super handsome too! His daddy is my husband’s coworker, so while I played with Alexander, Jason and Gene (the daddies) had a play date with all of our older children. Worked out perfectly!

Alexander was just a perfect little model, super handsome and I could have kept playing and playing, but eventually the daddy date was over and we had to call it a day. I did get a lot of fun stuff from him though. Thank you Julie for bringing him in to see me!

What a fun class this was! We had 3 adorable babies all with their own look – such beauties. First up is Claire, just a peanut with the most delicate features to match!

Next up is Finlee, and I almost squealed when I laid eyes on her! Look at all her gorgeous hair. I was also super excited to get the shot below because it’s the first time I was able to do it in my studio. Thanks Wendi for your help with that! You rock!

And finally, we had Carter – and what a STRONG little man he was! He didn’t really care to be posed all that much! A couple times, I thought he might just stand up on the beanbag and walk away! It’s no surprise – he obviously takes after his daddy, who I’ve known since elementary school!

He did however love to be swaddled in this gorgeous wrap from JD Vintage Props!

I was so excited to meet this little guy! I’ve known his mama since she was 6 years old, and haven’t seen her since she was maybe 9 or 10. Brittany grew into such a beautiful woman (which I always knew she would), got married and just had one of the most adorable little fellows I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. He was 21 days old on the day of his shoot – but he behaved just like the perfect 6 day old! He let me go from setup to setup and was just as content as could be. I LOVE it when babies are as easy as he was – then I really get to play! Just look at him….(sigh).

I’m soooo behind on blogging these sessions, however, I’ve been doing one of these mentoring sessions a month and I’m having a blast. It’s so fun meeting other photographers, talking shop without being the “nerd” in the crowd (my usual status, if I start talking photography details with anyone else) and cuddling sweet babies for an entire day. We had 3 sweet models, all with a very different look. I love the variety here in these little ones!
